On July 2nd, the Wild signed free agent forward Joel Rechlicz to a one year, two-way contract. Capgeek lists Rechlicz as having a AHL salary of $125,000 and a NHL salary of $600,000 for the upcoming season.
If you're into fights, go YouTube search Joel Rechlicz. There is no shortage of fights on there. Because that is about all he actually does. Rechlicz was brought in to provide a little "grit" to the AHL team. He could see an NHL game or two this next season should the Wild actually feel the need to put a goon in the lineup. But for the most part, he will be spending the season in Iowa.
For those of you who want the Wild to add a tough guy to the lineup,\you got your wish. But he will be playing for the IOWA Wild (see what I did there?) this next season as the Minnesota club looks to roll with four scoring lines into training camp (this could change should the Wild make any additional offseason moves).
There's not much else to say here given how Rechlicz plays. He is your standard tough guy. Plain and simple.
