The 2014-15 Minnesota Wild: The Schedule

The new season is just three days away, so lets take a look at some notable dates on the calendar for the Wild.

October 9 & 11: The Wild are set to open the season with a home and home series against the team they defeated in the postseason last year, the Avalanche. The two teams had some epic tilts in the regular season and postseason last year, so this home and home series to kick off the new year should not disappoint. Also keep in mind that Colorado has Wild nemesis Jarome Iginla now, so you should pencil him in for six points in the first two games (joking, hopefully). Opening night is also the debut of Thomas Vanek in a Wild uniform.

October 19: The Wild head out to Los Angeles to get their first crack at the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

November 28: The Black Friday game will have the Wild playing in Dallas, instead of the traditional afternoon matinee at Xcel Energy Center.

December 31: Minnesota finds themselves ringing in the new year in Columbus. No word on whether the canon will be firing off at midnight.

January 20-February 1: They only play four games during this time, but the Wild are on their longest road trip of the season. They play at Detroit, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

January 27: Hey look, its the return of the All-Star Game! Columbus is the host city.

March 27-April 6: The Wild have a five game homestand, their longest homestand of the year, during this period. They play host to Calgary, Los Angeles, New York Rangers, Detroit, and Winnipeg.

April 7-11: The last three games of the year sees the Wild travel to division rivals Chicago, Nashville, and St. Louis. Hopefully the Wild do not need to have any must win games during this time.

April 14: Stanley Cup Playoffs begin.
