Review
McCormick was brought over at the trade deadline this year, along with Matt Moulson, in exchange for a couple second round picks. He played the remainder of the season on the fourth line, most of which came at center. In the playoffs, McCormick did nothing special, but still had a solid effort in a fourth line role to table a discussion as to if the Wild should retain his services next year.

Status for 2014-15
McCormick enters the offseason set to become a UFA on July 1st. He made $1.2 million this past season, given his strong postseason performance, could be brought back for a similar price. The Wild have not fared well in recent years when handing out contracts to fourth line (Torrey Mitchell, Darroll Powe), and that may make the front office take a look at just promoting someone from Iowa (Brett Bulmer comes to mind) to fill the spot McCormick leaves behind. The Wild probably end up giving McCormick a contract this summer just so they can say they have some "grit" on the roster.
