Bruce Granlund

First of all, if you have not heard the story of why the players call Mikael Granlund "Bruce", you can read about it here.

Tied with Zach Parise in goals scored during the postseason is not Mikko Koivu, Jason Pominville, Matt Moulson, or Charlie Coyle. Its noted goal scorer Mikael "Bruce" Granlund, with four. A couple of which, have come in some big moments.

With guys like Pominville and Moulson struggling to score goals (now it would seem that Moulson's woes have been due to injury), having Granlund (more of a pass first type of guy) step up and score has been a huge asset to this club.

While his stats are nice so far, they also suggest he will come back down to earth this postseason (a 16.7 shooting percentage is not sustainable over a long period of time). So the hope is, his linemates will start picking up the pace a bit.

Considering what Granlund has been through the past two years (rookie season struggles, head injuries), seeing him thrive on the big stage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs has been a sight for sore eyes around here. Regardless of how the postseason ends, Granlund will be entering next year with a boatload of confidence.

Just imagine what he can do if he plays a full 82 game season...
