Review
For the first time since 2007-08, the Wild had a 30 goal scorer. Jason Pominville became the first Wild player since Marian Gaborik and Brian Rolston to achieve that feat, and managed to play in all 82 games this season despite missing significant time last year due to a concussion. Pominville did not stray far from the top line this year, and was on the top power play all year as well. After tailing off in December/January, Pominville seemed to click with new center Mikael Granlund and the two were not seperated much after. With the success of linemates Granlund and Zach Parise, Pominville was not as fortunate to get on the board as he only scored two goals in the team's 13 games.
Highlights
Status for 2014-15
Next season marks the first for Pominville under the five year, $28 million contract he signed just prior to the start of 2013-14. It will come with a cap hit of $5.6 million each season, and carries a no movement clause and modified no trade clause. Pominville slates to open next year on the Wild's top line alongside Zach Parise and Mikael Granlund.
