Review
Through nine games this year, Jonas Brodin looked to be on his way to a breakout season offensively. He had three goal and three assists after just scoring two goals and nine assists in 45 games the season before. But he tailed off on the offensive front (five goals and eight assists in the 70 games that followed), and had issues staying consistent this year. He also looked a bit uncomfortable in the postseason, despite getting some time with his old defensive partner, Ryan Suter. Despite the struggles, Brodin is just 20 years old and has plenty of hockey left in him.
Highlights
Status for 2014-15
Like Charlie Coyle and Mikael Granlund, Brodin enters the final year of his entry level contract which comes with a cap hit of $894,167. Jonas will be a restricted free agent next summer, but could receive a contract extension from the Wild this summer as they try and lock up their young stars.
