A New Face In The State Of Hockey: Tanner Faith

Tanner Faith
Defenseman
6'3"
212 lbs
Shoots: Left
Born: October 5, 1995
Birthplace: Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada
Acquired: Drafted in the 5th round (139th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft

With their fifth round selection, the Wild drafted Tanner Faith, a defenseman from Kootenay in the WHL.

This past season, Faith watched his draft stock take a dive as he was only able to play 10 games due to injuries. In the previous season, he scored eight points (two goals, six assists) in 55 games.

It has been a trend for Minnesota in the past couple of drafts to take kids who have a bit more size. Faith is 6'3" and uses his big frame in the physical department. He might not offer a whole lot on the offensive end, but he is solid in the defensive end.

Minnesota took a shot on Faith when they picked him in the fifth round. They are hoping he can return to being 100% and can take some new strides this next year for Kootenay.

Welcome to the Team of 18,001 Tanner Faith!
